Prepare a work plan for the installation and sampling of up to four additional monitor wells <br /> The wells will be placed at the perimeter of the contaminate plume to assist in evaluating <br /> hydrocarbon and MTBE migration at the site. The additional wells are also required because <br /> the water table has risen above the top of the screened interval in all of the existing wells, <br /> potentially rendering analytical data from samples of the existing wells inaccurate . <br /> The additional wells \N ill be constructed so that the screened interval straddles the water table. <br /> Provisions will also be made to complete two of the wells as a nested set, allowing sampling of <br /> two water hearing zones in the sante location. The wells will allow characterization of the <br /> vertical component of groundwater contamination. <br /> Task 4 . Replace three monitor well traffic boxes. MW-2. MW-3 , and MW-4 need to be replaced due <br /> to failing concrete . The work is described in a letter dated October 23 , 1997, from Condor to <br /> the PHS/EHD. <br /> Upon }'our approval of a contract addendum , Condor will prepare the work plan for submission to the <br /> PHS.JEHD . Following approval by the PHS/EHD, a cost estimate for Tasks 3 , 4 , and 5 twill be prepared <br /> and submitted for pre-approval to the Clean-up fund. <br /> Please call me to get the this phase of the work underway.
