4 S ILI WFC'Environmental Consultants, Inc. Sampling Protocol Drilling Permits will be obtained for the vapor wells, borings and monitoring well before the drilling begins. The soil borings vapor wells and monitoring wells will be made using a mobile drilling rig with a short mast to accomodate the low overhead clearance at the site.A hollow stem flight auger no less than 3 1/4-inch i.d. and S 7/8 o.d wil be used e4 to perform the borings and to install the wells. - All drilling equipment will be thoroughly steam-cleaned before drilling ,4 begins to prevent the introduction of contamination from off site and between borings to prevent cross contamination. The borings will be logged (Appendix A) under the direct supervision - of a registered geologist using the Unified Soil Classification System. a 4_1 "`t The color, texture, moisture, plasticity (if applicable), consistency of L the earth materials, pertinent soil or bedrock characteristics, and any. evidence of contamination was noted.
