The casing and end caps will be threaded and
no PVC cement will be used. The filter pack will extend two feet above
the well casing perforations. A bentonite seal 2- to Meet thick will be
placed in the annular space above the filter pack followed by a cement a
_ grout to the surface.
SOIL VAPOR:
All materials used in well construction will be thoroughly cleaned prior
to introduction intothe boring. A two inch diameter well casing (PVC)
with end cap and factory perforations for placement in the boring will
be installed to the depth of soil contamination as measured on site
with a photo ionization detector. In the event that the sample obtained
at the ground water interface indicates contamination, the vapor wells
will be placed 5' into the saturated zone, so that future oxidation of
contaminated ground water can be:performed. The well pack for soil
y vapor wells will be pea gravel as shown in vapor well construction
diagram, (Appendix B). The filter pack will extend to the top of the
perforations ehcept for the last two feet, The last two feet from the
^` surface will be grouted with cement, allowing room for plumbing and a
' traffic protection box to be installed.
Well Development and Sampling
The water well will be developed until the well water is clear of
sediment, and the pH, temperature, and conductivity have stabilized.
The water produced during well development will be containerized and
left on-site in 55-gallon drums for disposal as hazardous waste if.
deemed necessary.Disposition of the water will be determined from
laboratory results. Disposal will be the responsibility of the client
unless other arrangements have been made.
All soil and ground water samples will be properly labeled with date
collected, project number, sample coordinator, and sample
identification. Field records will document the above information and
other significant data.
L
