NP1 was drilled to a depth of 90 feet below surface grade(bsg). A 1 inch well
casing was installed in the bore hole with a screened interval from 85 to 90 feet bsg. A second
well casing was to be installed in this bore Dole with'a screened interval from 50 to 60 feet bsg.
The cement grout planned to end at 60 feet bsg extended to 57 feet bsg. It was decided that NP1
should be grouted to surface and a second boring drilled for placement of a well with the screened I
interval of 50 to 60 feet bsg. That well, MW10, was constructed with 2 inch well casing. I
I
Baseline Mobile Laboratory was on site during this work and analyzed soil and groundwater
samples that were collected. It was indicated to PHS/EHD staff that there were higher levels of
soil and groundwater contamination at 60 feet bsg than at 50 feet bsg and that the last water
sample obtained at 70 feet bsg was contaminated.
All the monitoring wells for this site (including NPI and MW10) were purged and sampled on
February 4, 1999.
A report describing the above work and providing the analytical results of the soil and water
samples collected has not been submitted to PHS/EHD or the Central Valley Regional Water ,
Quality Control Board to date. Please submit a report with this information immediately.
If you have any questions contact me at(209)468-3449.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
c: CVRWQCB—Mark List
San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney, David Irey '
ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller—Dr. Stephen Cullen
Helen McCrary
SWRCB—Rick Rempel
Brooke Birkie, Esq.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
