Although a small amount of
contaminated soil exists at the extreme north end of the property, most of the
contaminated soil at the site has been excavated and removed. The remaining soil may
be too impractical to remove and may be left in place if shown that it is not contributing
to further groundwater contamination.
A continuing groundwater investigation on-site involves the sampling of five existing
monitoring wells. Sampling must be done on a quarterly basis, but this procedure is
generally non-obtrusive. 'Three monitoring wells are located in the north area of the
parcel, one is on the east perimeter, and one is located at the southeast corner.
Analytical results of groundwater samples have shown the presence of relatively low
concentrations of hydrocarbons reported in the gasoline range. Monitoring wells may
need to be properly abandoned to accommodate site development. I will work with
Unocal regarding monitoring well relocation if this is necessary.
Ss
RPT Q TRANSMITTAL ;
x 4,561
roan ran Drivp. Suite A.
