March 1, 1995
Ms. Ferguson
Page 2
In order for this Department to assist with any proposed development of the site, plans
will need to be submitted for review prior to any construction. Plans should include a site
plan showing the location of any proposed structures (including driveways, parldng areas,
and other paved areas), landscaping, utility trenches, storm drains, underground features,
and any other items that may have an effect on the continuing contamination
investigation and site remediation. Construction activities involving excavation, grading or
dewatering must be clearly indicated.
Although it is not expected, the potential of encountering contaminated soil exists. I
recommend that Unocal be prepared with a contingency plan to address-this possibility
so that project delays are kept to a minimum. This Department must be notified
immediately of any such incidents.
I trust that this letter serves to clarify this Department's stance on the development the
referenced site. I will be happy to discuss any of my comments with you, your agents, or
any potential buyers of this parcel. Please feel comfortable telephoning me at (707) 525-
6574.
Yours truly,
CZ4-
Cliff Ives
Senior Environmental Health Specialist
Leaking Underground Storage Tank
Local Oversight Program
cc Mr. Robert N.
