In conjunction with this investigation, <br /> Unocal has requested RESNA to install one offsite ground-water monitoring well. As an <br /> agent for Unocal, RESNA is requesting your authorization for our subcontractors to install <br /> a ground-water monitoring well in the alley between Walnut and Alder Street. The alley <br /> is south of parcel 4 of the Sperry Addition of San Joaquin County Assessor Map book, page <br /> 127-05, block 12, in Stockton, California, as shown on the attached Area Map, Plate 1. <br /> We have enclosed the following items: (1) Unocal's Standard Access Indemnification <br /> Agreement form, (2) a revocable permit application, (3) a check for $410 for processing the <br /> revocable permit and encroachment permit, and (4) a Schematic Ground-Water Monitoring <br /> Well Design (Plate 2) showing the construction of a typical ground-water monitoring well <br /> installed by RESNA for projects throughout California. <br /> The monitoring well will be drilled using a truckmounted drill rig with 8-inch-diameter <br /> augers. A 2-inch-diameter polyvinyl chloride casing will be installed in the boring; the well <br /> annulus will be constructed in accordance with State and local groundwater monitoring well <br /> guidelines. For safety and security reasons, the top of the casing will be fitted with a locking <br /> cap and an aluminum cover with specially designed fasteners. The aluminum cover will be <br /> set flush with surrounding grade.
