yr
RM
July 28, 1988 AGS Job No. 38012-2
Former UNOCAL Service Station, Stockton, California
benzene, which is slightly above the limit of 0.0007 ppm
established by the California Department of Health Services for
safe drinking water. Water from monitoring well M14-3 contained
levels of toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers that
were within recommended maximum concentrations. Water from
monitoring well MW-2 contained 99 ppm TPH and levels of BTEX
above recommended maximum concentrations.
-w
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOPMENDATIONS
The distribution and levels of hydrocarbon contaminants
encountered in sail and ground water during this investigation .
suggest that contamination originated in the vicinity of the
? former dispenser islands. No detectable soil or ground-water
contamination was found in boring B-3/monitoring well MW-3,
located downgradient .from the former underground tanks•
s
Because hydrocarbon-contaminated ground water-was found at the
eastern upgradient margin of the site, it is possible that some
contamination has migrated offsite.
We recommend performing a soil vapor survey to identify areas
-
- y
vapor
containing elevated. levels of-hydrocarbons-in-soil.- -A A_-soil
survey can provide useful information to select an efficient a.zd
. 17
APPI146d C;4q0SysMe177s
