Phi
August 3, 1988
AGS ,lob No. 38012-1
Page 2
operated percussion sampler fitted with a clean brass sleeve into the
soil. The sleeve was removed from the sampler and sealed with
aluminum foil, plastic. caps, and airtight tape. The samples were
then. labeled and immediately placed in iced
dstrage for transport
were to
the analytical laboratory for testing.
initiated by the field geologist and accompanied the samples to the
laboratory. Copies of these records are included with this report.
Each sequence of three samples (i.e. , A-B-C, D-E-F, etc.) was
composited by the analytical laboratory into one sample. In this
manner, one composite sample for approximately every 50 cubic yards
of stockpiled soil was analyzed.
Samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons in accordance
with Environmental Protection Agency ( PA) Method 8015 and the
volatile organic constituents benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and
E
total xylene isomers in accordance with EPA Method 8020 by HAZCAT
Analytical Laboratory in San Carlos, California. This laboratory is
certified by the State of California to perform these analyses.
Copies of the laboratory analysis reports are attached.
R^_sults of chemical analyses indicate that hydrocarbon constituents
in the soil are below laboratory limits of detection. Applied
GeoSystems recommends leaving the soil at its present location for
possible future use by North Cal Construction.
