(AGE). The EHD has the followinc,
comments.-
The EHD directed by letter dated September 26, 2007 (EHD letter) that a workplan for
conducting a rebound test for the soil vapor extraction/i n situ air sparging (SVE/IAS)
system be submitted to the EHD for review. AGE responded to this letter in the 3'-d QR
2007 by indicating that they do not agree with the EHD's recommendation to conduct
rebound testing. AGE recommended restarting the TAS remediation utilizing wells AW-
2A and AW-2B, and to install at least one additional SVE well adjacent to AW-2 to
ensure recovery of air-sparged contaminants. The EHD still does not concur with this
recommendation. The State Resources Control Board Underground Storage Tank
Cleanup Fund (USTCF) believes that the IAS system is no longer cost effective and does
not appear necessary and recommends that the EHD direct you to assess the efficacy of
the current groundwater treatment system and modify it as necessary to achieve Water
Quality Objectives in a timely manner. To accomplish this, the EHD believes that
additional data should be obtained by conducting rebound testing. The EHD would
approve advancement of a co"rfirrinAtiarl. soil boringin. the proposed SVE well location to
evaluate the effectiveness of
the recentSV
- On;
'
_E/IAS operation; if significant soil
contamination is encountered, the boring could be converted to an SVE well. The EHD
directs that a work plan for a rebound test of the SVE system be subitnitted to the EHD for
review by November 7, 2008, A proposal f6r the confirmation boring/SVE well can be
included in the workplan.
it
Results concerning the tracer test of monitoring well MW-13A through MW-13C have
not been posted to Geotracker to date. The EHD issued a work plan approval letter dated
