22 June 1998
AGE-NC Protect No 95-0173
IPage 3 of 5
water monitoring event is depicted in Figure 3
I3 2 DISSOLVED OXYGEN MEASUREMENTS
During the April 1998 ground water monitoring event, dissolved oxygen measurements were
recorded immediately following purging the monitoring wells Dissolved oxygen measurements
ranged from 0 34 mg/l (AW-2B)to 1 98 mg/l (MW-7) Results of dissolved oxygen in ground water
samples are sunvnarized In Table No 2
3 3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Utilizing EPA method 8015M, TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells
MW-1 through MW-4, MW-6, MW-8, MW-9, VW-1 and AW-IB at concentrations ranging as high
as 260,000 parts per billion (ppb, reported as micrograms per liter), TPH-d was detected In samples
collected from MW-1 through MW-9, VW-1 and AWAB at concentrations ranging as high as
. 25,000,however the laboratory reported that the chromatograms for the samples did not have typical
diesel characteristics
Utilizing EPA method 8020, BTE&X compounds were detected In samples collected from wells
MW-I through MW-4, MW-6, MW-8, MW-9, VW-1, AW-1 and AW-2 at concentrations ranging
up to 71,000 ppb (toluene, VW-1) Benzene concentrations were detected In gzound water samples
I collected from wells MWA through MW-4, MW-6, MW-9, VW-1, AW-1 and AW-2 at
concentrations ranging as high as 23,000 ppb (MW-3) MTBE was detected in well AW-2 at a
concentration of 2 6 ppb however analysis of the sample by EPA Method 8260 did confirm the
presence of MTBE in the sample
Utilizing EPA method 8260, MTBE, TAME, DIPE, ETBE and TBA were not detected in the
laboratory analysis of any ground water samples The analytical results for ground water samples
are summarized in Table 3
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results of ground water monitoring and sampling activities performed in April 1998,
AGE concludes
Ground water flow direction at the site (the area containing wells MW-1 through MW-9,
Advanced Geo£nironmental,Inc
