I
01 September 2005
AGE-NC Project No 95-0173
' Page 7 of 10
' operational for approximately 2,016 hours (Tables 6 and 7) The IAS system operated
contemporaneously with the SVE system During this operational period, SVE inlet flow rates were
observed to average approximately 54 cfm calculated from differential pressures observed between
' 1 0 and 14 inches of water,with Induced vacuum measurements observed between 58 and 68 Inches
of water Utilizing a PID, petroleum hydrocarbons were measured at concentrations as high as
110 ppm at regular Intervals at the SVE Inlet Field measurements are summarized in Table 6
' Second Quarter 2005 Influent and effluent SVE air flow samples were collected on 06 April,03 May
and 08 June 2005 TPH-g was detected in the April and May influent SVE air flow samples at
' concentrations of 300 µg/1 and 110 µg/1, respectively Xylene was detected in the April and May
influent SVE air flow samples at concentrations of 6 µg/1 and 3 5 µg/l,respectively,no other BTEX
constituents were detected from second quarter 2005 influent or effluent air samples Analytical
' results of SVE air samples are summarized in Table 5 The GeoTracker confirmation pages of the
submitted laboratory electronic deliverable format (EDF) files are included in Appendix B, the
laboratory reports (CTEL laboratory I D 0504-061, 0505-029 and 0506-082), QA/QC reports, and
chain of custody forms are presented in Appendix E, a plot of laboratory analyses of SVE influent
TPH-g air stream concentrations versus time is included in Appendix F
10
3 4 3 Mass Calculation of Recovered Products
The hydrocarbon mass removed during the SVE operating period was calculated using the equation
M = C•Q•t
' where M =cumulative mass recovered (kg)
C =vapor concentration (kg/m3)
' Q = extraction flow rate (M3/hr) -
t=operational period, in hours
' Between 22 December 2004 and 16 March 2005 (first quarter 2005), the SVE unit operated a total
of 2,016 hours (Table 6) The average analytical results (278 µg/l) of the influent SVE air flow
samples (Table 5), average flow rates (approximately 84 cfm, Table 6) and the operational period
(2 016 hours)were used to calculate the approximate mass of extracted gasoline during this period
Between 16 March and 08 June 2005 (second quarter 2005), the SVE unit operated a total of
' 2,016 hours(Table 6) The average analytical results(220 µg/1)of the influent SVE air flow samples
(Table 5), average flow rates (approximately 54 cfm, Table 6) and the operational period
(2,016 hours)were used to calculate the approximate mass of extracted gasoline during this period
. Between the first and second quarter 2005 operational periods,the combined mass of hydrocarbons
1 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
