• <br />' 30 December 1998 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 95-0173 <br />' Page 5 of 12 <br /> I32 INSTALLATION OF REMEDIATION WELLS <br /> An SVE system in conjunction with an IAS system is proposed to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon <br />' mass within the "core" petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area at the site In order to maximize the <br /> efficiency of the clean-up efforts,a 24-hour operation of the system is planned A typical destruction <br /> rate of greater than 95%of hydrocarbon vapors is expected throughout the entire cleanup duration <br />' Five additional SVE wells and five additional IAS wells will be installed at the site to supplement <br /> remediation efforts of the "core" petroleum hydrocarbon impacted area at the site Proposed SVE <br /> well locations are illustrated in Figure 3, proposed IAS well locations are illustrated in Figure 4 <br /> Based on an estimated SVE radius of influence of 28 feet (Corrective Action Plan, dated 05 May <br /> r1998), AGE proposes installation of five SVE wells in the following locations <br /> I • approximately 5 to 15 feet east of MW-1, <br /> • approximately 5 to 15 feet north of MW-2, <br /> approximately 30 to 40 feet south of MW-3, <br /> • approximately 20 to 30 feet east of MW-3, and <br /> • approximately 25 to 35 feet northeast of MW-3 <br /> Based on an estimated IAS radius of influence of 20 feet (Corrective Action Plan, dated 05 May <br /> 1998) and the existing and proposed SVE well locations, AGE proposes installation of five IAS <br /> wells in the following locations <br /> • approximately 20 to 30 feet northeast of MW-1, <br /> • approximately 25 to 35 feet southeast of MW-1, <br /> • approximately 20 to 30 feet northeast of MW-2, <br /> • approximately 20 to 30 feet south of MW-3, and <br /> • approximately 25 to 35 feet east of MW-3 <br /> 33 INSTALLATION OF SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION/AIR SPARGE PIPING SYSTEM <br /> Two-inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC piping will be installed approximately one foot bsg and routed <br /> from the SVE well heads to the vapor extraction unit, one-inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC piping <br /> Adtnnced Ge0En%iron mental,Inc <br />
