D. Remove probe rods to the top of the screen section.
E. Install bentonite seal lifts, pulling probe rods concurrently with bentonite seal
installation.
Complete at ground surface as indicated. _ _----
3.5 GROUND WATER PIEZOMETER DEVELOPMENT'
A. Contractor shall conduct ground water piezometer development after the
bentonite seal has set for a minimum of 24 hours following ground water
monitoring well completion.
B. Ground water piezometers shall be developed using either a submersible pump,
airlift equipment,jetting,backsurging,a bailer,and/or a surge block.
C. Ground water piezometer development will consist of repeated evacuation and
I
surging.
D. Potable water may be used as a development aid for the purpose of circulation of
sediment from the well.
E. A minimum of 10 ground water piezometer volumes shall be removed and at i
least three times the volume of any potable water added during drilling will be j
removed. ?`
F. The Engineer will collect water samples for temperature,pH,and specific
' conductivity during ground water piezometer development Contractor shall
assist Engineer in water sample collection.
1 G. Ground water piezometer development shall continue until the temperature,pH,
and specific conductivity have stabilized between consecutive water sample, and
the ground water removed is clean and free of soil sediment, and as approved by
the Engineer.
H. Well development shall continue until the minimum ground water volume is i
E
removed or until ordered to stop by the Engineer.
I. Any required pumps, filters,or other equipment necessary to process water and
i
conduct well development shall be provided by Contractor at his cost
3.6 SURFACE COMPLETION
` A. Ground Water Piezometer:
1
I. Places tand pipe at elevations indicated on the drawings.
2. Secure standpipe with concrete apron as indicated.
