(Fluor Daniel GTI)submits this letter on.behalf of The Southland Corporation l <br /> (Southland) as a work plan to conduct a Pre-Tank-Relining Soil Assessment at the subject site <br /> (Attachment 1). This Soil Assessment WorkPlanis submitted in response to a telephone conversation with <br /> the San Joaquin County Department of Health Services(SJCDHS) on January 21, 1997. As part of the <br />! SJCDHS Tank Relining requirements, collection and analyses of soil samples beneath'the ends of each <br /> underground storage tank(UST) is required prior to permit approval for tank relining. The scope of work <br /> includes advancing six angled borings to a vertical depth of 15 feet below ground surface (BGS) beneath <br /> the ends of each of the three underground storage tanks (USTs) at the site. <br /> I <br /> TASK 1: SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN/PERMITTING ; <br /> A site-specific Health and Safety-plan will be prepared by Fluor Daniel GTI as required by the <br /> • I <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency:Response"guidelines(29 CFR_1910.120). The document will.be reviewed and signed by all <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI personnel and subcontractors performing work at the site. i <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI will conduct a technical review of the pertinent information associated with the site. <br /> Permits for drilling will be obtained from the SJCDHS. <br /> On-site underground utilities will be marked by an underground utility company, and Underground Service <br /> Alert(USA)will be contacted and requested to notify the local utility companies to mark the location of <br /> underground utilities surrounding the site: <br /> i <br /> I <br /> 1401 Halyard Drive, Suite 140 /West Sacramento, CA 95691 USA (916) 372-4700 FAX(916) 372-8781 <br />
