Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
CHEVRON 5608 NORTH PERSHING, STOCKTON - QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORTS AND
PROPOSED WORK PLAN FOR.ADDITIONAL GROUND WATER INVESTIGATION
We have reviewed the recent Quarterly monitoring reports prepared by Weiss
Associates and the 12 September 1989 work plan prepared by Dames & Moore
consultants for this site.
I
The quarterly ground water monitoring program has shown a significant increase
in hydrocarbon concentrations in some of the monitoring wells. Because marry
of the on-site wells are!now dry or contain insufficient water for adequate
sampling, Chevron has submitted a proposed work plan for additional
investigation to further define the extent of ground water contamination.
The proposed scope of work will include installation of four additional ground
water monitoring wells, and testing to determine the hydraulic properties of
the aquifer materials. The proposed design and locations for the monitoring
wells appears appropriate for. this phase of the investigation. Therefore, we
recommend approval of the proposed 'work plan
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731 .
THOMAS D.
