Because many
of the on-site wells are now dry or contain insufficient water for adequate
sampling, Chevron has submitted a proposed wort: plan for additional
investigation to further define the extent of ground water contamination.'
4 The proposed scope of work will include installation of four additional ground
water monitoring wells, and testing to determine the hydraulic properties of
the aquifer materials. The proposed design and locations for the monitoring
wells appears appropriate for this phase of the investigation. Therefore, we
recommend approval of the proposed work plan.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731.
THOMAS D.
