c
 KLEINFELDER
SCHEDULE
Kleinfelder can begin scheduling assessment activities within three working days of our receipt
of written authorization to proceed and receipt of the items (such as written access authorization
and interview contacts) requested from the client in the scope of work. The anticipated schedule
for each task is described as follows:
Task 1.0 -- Site Visit and Interviews 3 to 4 weeks
(ESA Recommendation 1)
Task 2.0 -- Limited Soil and Groundwater 8 to 12 weeks*
Assessment (ESA Recommendation Nos. 9 & 11)
*Please note that Kleinfelder has no control of the length of time required for PHS/EHD review
of workplans and approval of boring permits. Based upon our past experience, we anticipate
workplan review and boring permit approval to take approximately 2 weeks.
CONDITIONS AND UNDERSTANDINGS
The proposed scope of services and estimated budget are based on the following:
• The cover letter(attached) is an integral part of this proposal.
• The client will provide Kleinfelder with the authorization to access the site and owner
authorization for the proposed sampling. The client will provide a written right of entry
authorization, if requested.
• Sampling and analysis, other than that specifically described in this scope of work, are
not included in the scope of services.
• Six copies of each report of findings will be delivered to Mark Thomas & Company.
Additional copies can be provided for a fee of$50 per copy.
• Client meetings and revisions to the report are not included in the budget estimate, but
can be provided on a time and materials basis at the client's request.
• Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
soil borings and collect samples at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment
cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be
investigated.
• The borings are to be drilled with a truck mounted drill rig equipped with hollow stem
augers, or sampled using a hand auger and slide hammer. If difficult drilling conditions
are encountered, alternative sampling methods may be necessary.
• Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the
client. Soil cuttings will be placed in drums, and decontamination rinseate and purge
water will be contained in drums and left on site. Sampling and analysis of the contained
soil and water may be necessary prior to disposal. Disposal or remediation options for
the soil and water can be assessed once analytical results have been received.
