Linden School District April, 1995 <br /> Site Specific Safety Plan Well Installation <br /> WES Project No 4062-R <br /> 4) All breaks are to be taken in a cool area (77 degrees Fahrenheit is <br /> ideal) <br /> Indications of heat stress include <br /> • Sweating <br /> • Pale moist skin <br /> • Complaints of dizziness <br /> • Pain or muscle spasm <br /> Personnel monitoring is recommended above 80 degrees Fahrenheit (I e , heart <br /> rate, oral temperature, body weight loss, blood pressure etc ) Use NIOSH <br /> guidelines for monitoring intervals <br /> The following climatic conditions may warrant site closure <br /> • Electrical storms <br /> • Wind velocity above 15 miles per hour If dust control Is feasible <br /> • Excessive heat <br /> 3.4 PHYSICAL HAZARDS DURING OPERATIONS <br /> The physical hazards expected to be encountered during work activities are listed <br /> below as <br /> slipping, tripping falling, strains, cuts, bruises, puncture <br /> wounds, pinch points from heavy equipment, falling objects and <br /> splinters <br /> I <br /> Exposure to these hazards will be minimized by using safe work practices and <br /> personnel protective equipment such as steel toe, steel shank boots, etc <br /> SECTION 4 <br /> AIR MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> During all operations, a portable monitoring device TankTector or equivalent will <br /> continuously monitor the soil samples and cuttings during drilling operations In <br /> addition, an oxygen meter / combustible gas detector will monitor air quality Should the <br /> TankTector or oxygen meter demonstrate an unacceptable concentration, all work will <br /> cease In that area The Site Safety Officer will notify the Project Manager and <br />
