I
1
Union Safe Deposit Workplan
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Augeas Corporation has prepared a workplan for an exploratory drilling and
sampling episode at the subject property described below. The following i
proposal summarizes the details of our workplan.
2.0 PROTECT HISTORY
The property subject is situated at 7810 Thornton Road in the Stockton,
J p
California. The subject property is situated in a predominantly commercial
area.The site,formerly Ron's Chevron,underwent demolition and reconstruction
in 1983. The existing bank structure was erected soon after.
Augeas Corporation was retained by Leslie Trotter of Union Safe Deposit to
perform an Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the subject property in
C May of 1992. Augeas Corporation's investigation revealed the following
information: review of the Stockton Fire Dept. files indicates indicates four
underground storage tanks were in use as of Aril of 1958. No documentation
of the closure and/or removal of these tanks was found. Agency files also
indicated that four different-underground_storage-tanks-were-removed_in May
<0f-1983::This removal occurred prior to implementation of soil sampling
requirements following tank removal. Therefore, no documentation as to the
condition of the tanks or surrounding soils exist.
In addition, contamination may have been carried to the site through local
groundwater migration. Possible sources of contaminants include: the B.P
Station to the southeast, the Tune-Up Shop and Service Center to the east and
the Knowles Gas Station located to the northeast. According to groundwater
documentation reviewed by Augeas, these sites may all be periodically located
upgradient of the subject property.
Project Number: UNS622 Page 2 of 8
