28 July 1999
. AGE-NC Project No 96-0263
boring B3 to 5,400 yg/l of xylene in boring B 1 MTBE was the only oxygenated fuel additive
detected in the water samples, and was detected in five of the seven samples analyzed at
concentrations ranging from 65 ,ug/l to 11,000 µg/l Only the grab ground water samples collected
from borings B7 and B9 did not contain detectable concentrations of MTBE
Laboratory results of grab ground water samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel
additives are summarized in Tables 3 and 4 Figure 3 depicts the areal distribution of detected
analytes in grab ground water samples
Ground water at the site was encountered at a depth of approximately 10 feet bsg The lateral extent
of the dissolved phase plume appears to have been delineated toward the south and west from the
UST system The most intensely impacted ground water appears to underlie the former locations of
the USTs and dispenser
3.0. REGIONAL GROUND WATER ELEVATION
Information obtained from monitoring wells located at 2420 Grant Line Road and 2450 Toste Road
indicate that groundwater depth at the site is between 8 and 10 feet bsg Ground water flow direction
at the Grant Lane site is northerly, consistent with flow direction in the Tracy area
4.0. SCOPE OF WORK
Based on analytical data from the initial site assessment of the site, the PHS-EHD has requested that
an additional soil and ground water investigation be performed to define the lateral and vertical
extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination A significant hydrocarbon-impact to soil and
ground water has been encountered in the area of the former dispenser island
The proposed scope of work will include the following tasks
• Permitting and pre-field work activities,
• Soil sample collection and analysis,
• Monitoring well installation and sampling, and
• Report preparation
Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
