It is the <br /> olicy of the DFG to oppose projects which would result in a net <br /> oss of either wetland acreage or wetland habitat value. <br /> The applicant should be advised that work consisting of but not <br /> limited to diversion or obstruction of the natural flow or changes <br /> in the channel, bed, or bank of any river, stream, or lake, will <br /> require notification to the DFG as required by Fish and Game code <br /> Section 1600, at seq. The notification (with fee) , and subsequent 3 <br /> agreement must be completed prior to initiating any such work. <br /> Notification to the DFG should be made after the project is <br /> approved by the lead aggency. The agreement process should not be <br /> used in lieu of specific mitigation measures to be included as <br /> conditions of project approval by the lead ag ncy. <br /> Pursuant to Public Resources Code sections 21092 and 21092 . 2 the <br /> DFG requests written notification of proposed actions and pending <br /> decisions regarding this project. Written notification should be <br /> directed to this office. <br /> In conclusion, the DFG reoommands that the "no river crossing" <br /> alternative be adopted in order. to lessen impacts to wetlands as a <br /> result of this excavation project. we would not oppose <br /> certification of the Draft EIR if the above-mentioned <br /> recommendations are incorporated into the document and made <br /> conditions of the permit approved. <br /> If the DFG can be of further assistance, please contact <br /> Mr. Bob Maes, Associate Wildlife Biologist, or <br /> Ms .
