C. Sample: A quantity of the proposed gravel pack shall be submitted to the <br /> Engineer for gradation testing. The Contractor shall obtain a written approval <br /> from the Engineer before any gravel is delivered to the well site. Gravel shall <br /> be disinfected in accordance with AWWA Standard A100, Section 4.9 <br /> 2.06 CLOSURE PLUG <br /> A. The bottom end of the casing shall be furnished with 10 feet of blank <br /> production casing and a closure plate of the same material and thickness as ` <br /> the casing. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EQUIPMENT AND OPERATING REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Equipment: The Contractor must provide equipment which is in first class <br /> working order. No unnecessary delays or work stoppages will be tolerated <br /> due to inadequate or faulty equipment. The Contractor shall be held <br /> responsible and payment may be withheld for damages to the well due to <br /> any cause of negligence or faulty operation. <br /> B. Job Supervision: The Contractor shall have a competent and responsible <br /> supervisor in attendance at the well site at all times during the construction, <br /> development, and test pumping of the well. <br /> i� <br /> C. Hole Protection: The Contractor shall take all measures necessary to protect <br /> the pilot holes and well bores from caving and raveling. If a temporary <br /> conductor pipe is used to prevent caving in during placement of the seal or <br /> f <br /> during drilling, it shall be removed as the seal is placed. <br /> D. Notification: The Contractor shall provide 24 hours notice to the Engineer <br /> prior to conducting E-log, water quality sampling, screen/casing placement, <br /> plumbness and alignment surveys, test pumping and disinfection. <br /> E.• 46I1 Locations: The Production Well and Nested Monitoring Well shall be <br /> located based on bearing and distances shown on the Topographic-Site <br /> Survey, and where indicated on the Existing Site Layout Plan, both included <br /> in these project specifications. The wells shall be located by a surveyor <br /> registered in the State of California. The location of both wells shall be <br /> approved by the City prior to starting well drilling construction. <br /> 3.02 DRILLING <br /> A. It is required that the Contractor drill the pilot holes and wells by the reverse <br /> rotary method. In addition, the Contractor shall install well casing, screen, f <br /> sanitary seal, grout backfill, and gravel pack using methods approved by the b <br /> Engineer, as circumstances may require. <br /> b <br /> Division III- 19 <br />
