B. The Contractor shall drill the pilot holes, complete the design of the wells,
and receive approval by the Engineer prior to continuing with the drilling of
` the final well bores.
I C. A caliper log shall be performed after completion of each bore hole. The
caliper shall have a minimum of three (3) independently operated measuring
arms with a continual recording documentation indicating the diameter curve.
The caliper tool shall have the ability to assure borehole diameter to C
46 inches.
3.03 PRODUCTION WELL
A. The intended operating capacity of the water supply well is 2,500 gpm. It is
expected that the water supply well will have to be constructed to a depth of
approximately 1,000 feet, measured from the ground surface, in order to
produce the desired yield. The final well depth will be determined after the
pilot hole is drilled and sampling is completed. The Contractor shall provide
a sand production guarantee of not more than five (5) parts per million.
B. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: Design and Construction of the Production _
Well shall be measured on a lump sum basis. The Contract lump sum price
paid for the Design and Construction of the Production Well shall include full
compensation for furnishing all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, and
performing all the work necessary to design and construct the Production
Well, including extending the casing above ground, complete in place, as
shown on the plans, as specified in the Standard Specifications, these
special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, and no additional
compensation will be allowed.
3.04 NESTED MONITORING WELL
A. The Nested Monitoring Well shall consist of four (4) 4-inch-diameter well
casing pipes with screens located at varying depths (up to 1,000 feet) to
sample individual aquifers. The final screen and casing depths will be
%tbtermined after the well is drilled and sampling is completed. if the S
Engineer determines that more than four (4) aquifers require sampling pipes,
a second Nested Monitoring Well shall be constructed at the unit prices listed
on the BID. The well shall be constructed as shown and as hereinafter `
described.
B. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: Design and Construction of the Nested
Monitoring Well shall be measured on a lump sum basis. The Contract lump
sum price paid for the Design and Construction of the Nested Monitoring Well
shall include full compensation for furnishing all the labor, materials, tools,
equipment, and performing all the work necessary to design and construct
the Nested Monitoring Well, including extending the casing above ground,
complete in place, as shown on the plans, as specified in the Standard
Specifications, these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, and 4
no additional compensation will be allowed.
Division III-20
