t. <br /> SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> Uff SECTION 1 - DEFINITIONS <br /> The work embraced herein shall be done in accordance with provisions of the City of <br /> Tracy Standard Specifications dated November, 1988, unless modified by these Special <br /> Provisions. <br /> Provisions of the specifications and standard plans entitled "State of California, <br /> `r Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, and Standard Plans, dated July, <br /> 1992" are hereinafter referred to as "THE STATE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS". <br /> Whenever in the "THE STATE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS", the following terms are <br /> used, they shall be understood to mean and refer to the following: <br /> "Department of Public Works or Department of Transportation" - The City Council of the <br /> City of Tracy. <br /> "Director or Director of Public Works" -The Director of Development & Engineering <br /> Services of the City of Tracy. <br /> "Engineer" -The City Engineer of the City of Tracy acting either directly or through <br /> y properly authorized agents, such as agents acting within the scope of the particular <br /> duties entrusted to them. <br /> "Laboratory" -The designated laboratory authorized by the Director of Development & <br /> Engineering Services to test materials and work involved in the contract. <br /> "State" -The City of Tracy. <br /> �,. "City" -The City of Tracy. <br /> In case of conflict between the contract documents, the precedence of documents shall <br /> ,., be in accordance with Section 2.09 of the City of Tracy Standard Specifications, dated <br /> November, 1988, and that among "Reference Specifications" cited in this section, the <br /> Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction "Greenbook" has precedence <br /> .6.6 over the State of California, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications. <br /> SECTION 2 - DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> In general, the work to be done consists of(1) drilling and equipping a new production <br /> well and multiple completion (nested) monitoring well that includes installing the casings <br /> and gravel packs, electrical components, piping and related site work, development and <br /> testing; (2) destruction of three abandoned production wells that includes filling, sealing, <br /> and capping; (3) destruction of two well pump houses and their related appurtenances, <br /> along with any other items of work that are required by law, the project plans, Standard <br /> Specifications, or these special provisions. <br /> w <br /> DIVISION 11-1 Special Requirements <br />
