SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> SECTION 1 - DESCRIPTION OF WORK: <br /> In general, the work to be done consists of (1) designing, drilling, and equipping a new <br /> production well and multiple completion (nested) monitoring well that includes installing <br /> the casings and gravel packs, electrical components, piping and related site work, <br /> development and testing; (2) destruction of three abandoned production wells that <br /> includes filling, sealing, and capping; (3) destruction of two well pump houses and their <br /> related appurtenances, along with any other items of work that are required by the <br /> project plans, Standard Specifications, or these special provisions. <br /> SECTION 2 - SUBMITTALS: <br /> Specified product items and proposed equivalent ("or equal") items must be submitted <br /> for the Engineer's approval and shall include adequate technical information to fully <br /> describe the function and quality of the item(s). The Contractor shall indicate whether <br /> the submittal is a requited product item specified in the Contract Documents (i.e. <br /> equipment, shop drawings, samples, or for product information only) or for product <br /> review of proposed equivalents. Six copies of the submittals, along with the <br /> Manufacturers' Affidavits for items specified in the Contract Documents, is required_ <br /> `a The Engineer's approval of submittals shall not relieve the Contractor from the <br /> responsibility of meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents. The Engineer's <br /> review of submittals is for compliance with the design intent and requirements of the <br /> Contract Documents. If later information reveals that work or items submitted or <br /> furnished do not meet the requirements of the Contract Documents or the Work as a <br /> whole, the Engineer's favorable review shall be void and the items or work shall be <br /> considered defective. The Contractor shall not perform work for which reviewed <br /> submittals are required without obtaining approval of those submittals. <br /> The Contractor shall make the submittals in time to allow for the Engineer's review and <br /> resubmittal, if required, without causing delay to the Work. The Contractor shall review, <br /> stamp, date, and sign submittals before sending them to the Engineer. By making such <br /> +r a submittal, the Contractor makes the following warranty and shall include these <br /> warranty statements on the letter of transmittal. The Contractor warrants that: <br /> �• 1. All equipment, product items, and proposed equivalent items submitted meet the <br /> requirements of the Contract Documents and are equal in quality, utility, and <br /> appearance to the originally specified item, or else any deviations are identified <br /> �. in a separate letter accompanying the submittal; <br /> 2. All work or items submitted have been coordinated with and meet the <br /> r.. requirements of other submittals, field conditions, and the work as a whole; <br /> 3. Adjustments to other work required to accommodate the proposed equivalent <br /> items have been delineated on the submittal and will be made at the Contractors <br /> expense; <br /> Division III- 1 <br />
