G. Water Disposal: The Contractor shall dispose of all testing and development <br /> water without damage to any property, and in accordance with applicable <br /> regulations. The Contractor must provide sand traps for sand control. The <br /> development water could be accepted into the existing West Side Irrigation <br /> District (WSID) drainage canal via the existing waste pipe, upon approval of <br /> WSID. The Contractor shall make all of the necessary arrangements with <br /> WSID Development water shall be clear of sand, silt and sediment prior to <br /> entering the waste pipe. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to provide <br /> �. whatever means necessary for the creation of a settling basin. <br /> H. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: Full compensation for conforming to <br /> La these requirements, including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, <br /> incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in development of the wells, as <br /> specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions, and as <br /> directed by the Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid <br /> for the various contract items of work involved and no additional <br /> compensation will be allowed. <br /> 3.12 TEST PUMPING FOR YIELD AND DRAWDOWN (FOR PRODUCTION WELL <br /> ONLY) <br /> A. General: After the well has been developed and cleaned out and the depth <br /> of the well accurately measured, the contractor shall notify the Engineer to <br /> that effect and shall make the necessary arrangements for conducting a <br /> pumping test. The pumping test for the Production Well shall be conducted <br /> as specified herein and in the presence of the Engineer. <br /> Le B. Equipment: <br /> 1_ The test pump, discharge column, and pump head shall be washed with <br /> �.. chlorine solution as it is being lowered into the well or installed on top of <br /> the well. After it has been placed into position, the pump shall be <br /> operated so as to thoroughly mix the disinfectant with the water in the <br /> L.. well. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall furnish, install and remove at completion of the test <br /> all necessary pumping equipment, driver, piping and measuring devices <br /> ... for the test. The pump shall have a capacity of not less than 4,000 <br /> gallons per minute at the head required for maximum drawdown. The <br /> pump setting shall be at such depth that the bottom bowl is submerged <br /> r,. at all times. <br /> 3. The pumping unit shall be complete with a prime motor of ample power, <br /> controls, and appurtenances and shall be capable of being operated <br /> without interruption for a period of 24 hours. <br /> 4. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary discharge piping and <br /> appurtenances for the pumping unit, which shall be of sufficient size and <br /> �,. length to conduct the water being pumped to an approved point of <br /> disposal. The Contractor shall also furnish, install and maintain <br /> calibrated equipment of approved size and type for measuring the flow of <br /> Division III-28 <br />
