r.. <br /> D. Throughout its entire depth the completed wells shall be sufficiently plumb, <br /> straight and have true diameter and cross-section as required by AWWA <br /> Standard Al 00, paragraph 4.7.9 as will permit the proper functioning and <br /> La efficient operation and future servicing of the pumping equipment to be <br /> installed in the well at a later date. The Contractor shall test the completed <br /> wells, after grouting, in accordance with the provisions of AWWA Standard <br /> A100, Section 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for making all <br /> corrections to the construction necessary to provide an acceptably plumb <br /> and aligned well. <br /> E. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: Full compensation for conforming to <br /> these requirements, including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, <br /> incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in completing all required <br /> LM plumbness and alignment testing and corrections, as specified in the <br /> Standard Specifications, these special provisions, and as directed by the <br /> Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various <br /> contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be <br /> allowed. <br /> 3.17 ABANDONMENT OF HOLE <br /> A. In the event the Contractor shall abandon a hole because of loss of tools or <br /> other causes which are his responsibility, the Contractor shall, at his own <br /> expense, plug and fill said hole in conformance with regulations of Water <br /> Well Standards, State of California, Bulletin 74 for the abandonment of water <br /> wells. <br /> B. If it is determined that strata encountered in all or part of the pilot hole is <br /> +� unsuitable, the Contractor shall abandon that portion of the pilot hole and <br /> shall fill the hole with grout. <br /> t. 3.1$ CLEANUP <br /> A. Upon completion of the new wells, the Contractor shall remove all equipment <br /> �., and drilling spoil from the site and restore the site to a condition similar to <br /> that existing prior to construction of the wells. Cleanup shall include <br /> restoration of any area disturbed by disposal of water during development <br /> �,.. and test pumping. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and for doing <br /> all the work involved in cleanup, as specified in the Standard Specifications, <br /> ,�. these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, shall be <br /> considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 10 - DESTRUCTION OF THE EXISTING LEWIS MANOR, BALLPARK AND <br /> �+ CORPORATION YARD WELLS: (Bid Item Nos. 3, 4, and 5) <br /> The Contractor shall destroy the existing Lewis Manor, Ballpark, and Corporation Yard <br /> wells in accordance with the requirements of the most recent edition of the State of <br /> Division III -33 <br /> v <br />
