Quarterly Monitoring Report- Third Quarter 2015 Page 5 <br /> ' OAK RIDGE WINERY <br /> WKA No. 6364.08 <br /> August 25, 2015 <br /> ' 6.2 Site Groundwater Quality <br /> ' Results of third quarter 2015 analysis of groundwater from the Oak Ridge Winery process waste <br /> treatment facility compare to applicable water quality standards as follows: <br /> ' • Ammonia as nitrogen does not have a water quality standard established by <br /> MRP Order No. 05-01-172 or by EPA MCLs; however, ammonia contributes to <br /> ' total nitrogen. Ammonia as nitrogen was detected in concentrations ranging <br /> between 0.32 and 7.2 mg/L in MW1, MW2, MW3, and MW4. <br /> ' • Potassium does not have a water quality standard established by MRP Order No. <br /> 05-01-172 or by EPA Primary or Secondary MCLs; however, it contributes to <br /> total dissolved solids levels. Potassium was detected in water samples from <br /> ' each of the MW1, MW2, MW3 and MW 4 monitoring wells at concentrations <br /> between 3.5 and 27 mg/L. <br /> ' • Nitrate-as-nitrogen was not detected in any groundwater sample above the <br /> laboratory reporting limit of 0.50 mg/L. <br /> • Groundwater pH has a Secondary MCL acceptable range, previously discussed <br /> between 6.5 to 8.5. The water samples in MW1, MW2, MW3, and MW4 ranged <br /> in pH from 6.46 pH units to 6.68 pH units. The pH in MW4 (6.46)falls below the <br /> ' Secondary MCL acceptable range. <br /> • TKN as nitrogen does not have a defined acceptable or actionable limit in <br /> ' groundwater; however, concentrations may contribute to TDS and may produce <br /> oxygen deficient groundwater conditions. TKN is also indicative of incomplete <br /> oxidation of bio-available nitrogen compounds discharged to the process <br /> ' wastewater treatment system. TKN was detected in samples collected from all <br /> wells this quarter at concentrations ranging between 0.45 to 6.7 mg/L. <br /> ' • TDS concentrations in samples collected for this monitoring event were below <br /> the criterion established by MRP Order No. 05-01-172 (450 mg/1) with <br /> concentrations ranging between 73 to 260 mg/L. <br /> ' • Trihalomethanes were not detected above their respective laboratory reporting <br /> limit of 0.50 pg/L. <br />
