Highway 12
Lodi, CA 95240
NOTICE OF VIOLATION, INCOMPLETE SELF-MONITORING REPORT,LODI, SAN JOAQ UIN
COUNTY
As discussed during our inspection on 11 February 2004, staff have reviewed the recent self-monitoring
reports submitted by Oak Ridge Winery and determined they are incomplete. Because of the number of
violations that have occurred over the last year, staff has not attempted to list them all. Rather, the types
of violations most commonly noted are identified. Reports for the past year have failed to include the
following monitoring requirements:
• Quarterly groundwater monitoring reports not submitted.
• Monitoring of Total Kjeldahl nitrogen not submitted.
• Failure to monitor septic tank conditions.
• Failure to report pond freeboard conditions.
• Failure to report land application monitoring.
• Failure to report flow rates.
Enclosed with this Notice of Violation is a copy of Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order
No. 5-01-172. Please carefully review the Order and the Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP).
Beginning with the April monitoring report, Oak Ridge Winery shall comply with all aspects of the MRP.
Form 200
A Form 200 is included with this NOV. By 15 April 2004, please complete and submit the form to allow
staff to update the ownership information regarding Oak Ridge Winery, LLC.
Overdue Technical Reports
A review of the Provisions of the WDRs indicates that a number of technical reports have not submitted
as required. Staff will not recommend further enforcement action if Oak Ridge Winery submits the
outstanding reports in accordance with the schedule presented below. It is staff's goal to have all the
wastewater system improvements completed prior to the beginning of crush season, 2004.
California Environmental Protection Agency
a Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
