WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREN TS ORDER NO. 5-01-172 • 12
EAST-SIDE WINERY DBA OAK WGE VINEYARDS
SAN JOAQUINCOUNTY
F. Groundwater Limitations:
The discharge, in combination with other sources, shall not cause underlying groundwater to
contain waste constituents in concentrations statistically greater than background water quality,
except for coliform. For coliform, increases shall not cause the most probable number of total
coliform organisms to exceed 2.2/100 ml over any 7-day period.
G Surface Water Limitations:
The discharge shall not cause the Mokelumne River downstream of the land application areas to
contain waste constituents in concentrations statistically greater than background (i.e., upstream)
surface water quality.
H. Provisions:
1. All of the following reports shall be submitted pursuant to Section 13267 of the California
Water Code, and shall be prepared by a California Registered Engineer.
a. By 17 August 2001, the Discharger shall submit an Interim Operation and Maintenance
Plan with a Cropping Plan attached as an appendix. The O&M Plan shall describe
wastewater and solid waste minimization procedures, and the method of disposal of the
stockpiled solid waste at the ponds. The Cropping Plan shall describe the land
application area, wastewater application method(s), crops to be grown, land preparation,
wastewater distribution method, loading rates, crop cutting, and crop disposal. The
Cropping Plan shall state the goal of the land application is wastewater treatment and
groundwater quality protection rather than as a commercial enterprise. The Cropping
Plan shall show that crops have been planted by 17 August 2001.
c.
