1,4 HG.-ltorin Well Develo ment
_ if monitoring wells are installed, each monitoring well will be developed after construction by bailing
with a dedicated. laboratory-cleaned teflon trailer until the water produced is relatively sediment free or
until measurements of pH,specific conductance, and temperature stabilize. If the well is bailed dry during
the development process, recharge rates was recorded. No cater or chemicals will be introduced into the
monitoring wells during well development.
1S Ground-Water Sampling,
Following well development, a liquid sample was collected from each well with the same teflon bailer
used to develop the well. E•-h sample was appropriately labeled and stored on ice from the time of
collection through the time of delivery o the laboratory.
2.0 ANALYTICPROCEDURFS
All soil samples submitted to the Iaboratury were analyzed by EPA Method 8020 for benzene, toluene,
( ethylbenza.te, and xylene (BTEX), and by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015
I._ modified for total purgeable hydrocarbon_(PH). All ground water samples submitted to the laboratory
were analyzed by EPA Method 602 for BTEX and EPA Method 8015 modified for TPH.
3.0 QUALMY ASSURANCE PLAN
This item describes the field and analytical procedures to be followed throughout the investigation.
3.7 General Sara le Col[ectlon and Handlln Procedures
Proper collection and handling are essentipl to ensure the quality of a sample. Each sample was collected
in a suitable container, preserved correctly for the intended analyses, and stored prior to analysis for no
longer than the maidmum allowable holding time. Details on the procedure for collection and handling
Of soil and ground-water samples used on this project can be found in Section 1.0.
3.2 Sample Wentitiratlonartd Condo-af-Custodro Pracedures
Sample identification and chain-of-custody procedures ensure sample integrityand document sample
possession from the time of collection to its ultimate disposal. Each sample container submitted for
ianalysis had a label affrzed to identify the job number, sampler, date and time of sample collection, and
a samole number unique to that sample. This information,in addition to a description of the sample, field
— ------ measurements tna e,sampling methodology,-names-of on-site personnel, and any other pertinent field
--— — - -
observations was recorded on the borehole log or in the field records. All samples were analyzed by a
— Calirornia-certified laboratory.
f
