1 • •
i GEO-PHASE
i
- ENVIRONMENTAL
Report
Soil Boring Installation
8700 Thornton Road
Stockton, CA
June 13, 2011
1 GPE Project No. 639.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1 On May 3, 2011, Geo-Phase Environmental, Inc. completed a Phase I ESA of
the subject site. The report identified the site as a former Sunland gasoline
station, which operated between 1965 and 1977. The associated underground
fuel tanks were removed in the early 1980s, prior to enactment of laws and
regulations requiring soil testing to show the tanks did not leak. Whether or
1 not a tank had leaked remained unknown. The Phase I ESA recommended
that soil borings be installed through the original tank pit, and soil samples
be collected and tested for gasoline and diesel hydrocarbons.
i
1.1 Site Status
The subject property is the site of C&C Auto Repair. The business occupies
the original gas station building, and the original pump islands and the
protective canopy remain in place. An area of settled asphalt pavement
' indicates the site of the original tank pit, with cracking in the pavement
indicating the approximate limits of the tank pit. The former gasoline
1 station and the former tanks are not the subject of any current governmental
regulatory attention except that a County drilling permit was obtained to
install these borings.
2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
