t
Mr. Doug Stidham 8 February 2000
t
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS
Note: Unless otherwise stated, provide requested data for both the industrial and domestic wastewater
systems.
1) Describe the location of the facility and provide a site map. Also provide a site map which
presents the planned site improvements. Provide a schedule for the construction activities.
2) Describe the source and volume of the wastewater including seasonal variations. Provide
forecasts on wastewater generation for the next 15 years.
3) A review of historic data contained in self-monitoring reports indicates that the required
minimum concentration of dissolved oxygen have not been maintained. Describe system
improvements that will prevent future violations. System improvements may include
pretreatment of industrial wastewater prior to disposal.
4) Review of historic data reveals maximum flow limits have been exceeded. Describe system
improvements that will allow greater flow through the system. Provide a water balance that
presents water storage, flow, rainfall, groundwater infiltration, and freeboard for each month of
the year, for each pond. Show whether the pond system will have sufficient capacity to
accommodate allowable wastewater flow, design seasonal precipitation, seasonal ancillary
inflow, and infiltration during wet season. Design seasonal precipitation shall be based on total
annual precipitation using a return period of 100 years, distributed monthly in accordance with
historical rainfall patterns.
5) Provide a diagram of the planned wastewater treatment facility. At a minimum provide
diagrams showing pond locations, sizes, aeration devices, piping, valves, and meters.
6) Provide data on the quality of the domestic water provided to customers served by the WWTP.
7) Include available data on the depth of groundwater and information on aquifers and aquitards
identified beneath the WWTP property.
8) Describe any chemical additives or disinfectants added to wastewater to prevent scaling,
biofouling, or other undesirable tendency. Include information provided to the WWTP by the
industrial wastewater dischargers.
9) Describe the handling and disposal of solids generated by the treatment system.
10) Provide a water balance which presents the wastewater flow, storage capacity, and pond
level(s).
11) Is water reclamation being considered for this project?
12) Describe the surface water drainage patterns. Describe the disposal of stormwater.
C:Projrct Fila`SiiaEttaloo'Stidhuo020800.doc
