approximately 60 feet bgs. These wells will be completed within the first groundwater zone and
will be used for the SVE Pilot Study.
It is anticipated that an additional six to eight 2" diameter shallow SVE wells will be drilled to a
depth of about 25 feet bgs. These wells will also be used for the SVE Pilot Study.
(3) Soil gas and groundwater sample laboratory analysis;
(4) Investigation derived waste disposal;
(5) Data evaluation and reporting and;
(6) Site Characterization Report and Remediation Feasibility Study preparation. In addition a
Soil Vapor Extraction(SVE) Pilot Study will be included in the scope of work to obtain
information for a possible full-scale SVE soil remediation system of the LNC site.
2.3 Current Investigation Objectives
The current investigation objectives are as follow:
1. Determine the presence, nature, and occurrence of VOC substances in soil and shallow
groundwater at the LNC site.
2. Identify existing and potential VOC contaminant migration pathways.
3. Determine whether there is a potential significant threat to public health, safety, or
welfare, or to the environment posed by the past release of VOCs at or from the LNC site.
4. Identify and evaluate appropriate response measures, as needed,to mitigate past VOC
releases which have occurred.
5. Conduct a Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Study to determine the effectiveness of this
particular soil remediation methodology for the LNC site.
M ain\D:AEnvironmenta1\LN CV\10152007.wpd 6
