All downhole equipment will be cleaned prior to use and between wells by washing using an
Alconox solution and rinsing with clean potable water.
6.3 Task 3 Soil Gas and Groundwater Sample Laboratory Analyses
6.3.1 Soil Gas and Groundwater Sample Analytical Program
Soil vapor samples will be analyzed for VOCs by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(USEPA) Test Method TO-15 for the following primary analytes detected in previous soil vapor
surveys and soil samples (WZI, 1996; Geomatrix, 2006): TCA, DCA, PCE, TCE, cis-DCE,
trans-DCE, 1,1, 1-dichloroethylene, and 1 ,2-dichloroethane.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed using USEPA Test Method 8260B by Kiff Analytical.
6.3.2 Sample Documentation and Shipment
All soil gas and groundwater samples will be sampled, handled and transported in accordance
with the Field Sampling Program (Appendix 2) of this workplan.
6.4 Task 4 Investigation Derived Waste Disposal
In the process of collecting environmental samples at the LNC site during this field
sampling event, the Consultant will generate different types of potentially contaminated
investigation-derived wastes (IDW)that include the following:
• Used personal protective equipment (PPE) and disposable sampling equipment;
• Decontamination fluids;
• Soil cuttings;
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Contingency Plan (NCP)requires that
management of any IDW generated during Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study(RDFS) field
investigations comply with all applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs)to
M ain\D:AEnvironmenta1\LN CV\10152007.wpd 40
