■ Z1 INC <br /> The hydrocarbon impacted soil also has very slight chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds <br /> • present to a maximum identified concentration of 5 ppm The average chlorinated <br /> hydrocarbon compound concentration is estimated to be under 1 ppm for soil <br /> immediately adjacent to the concrete tank <br /> All Remedial Action Plan work would be conducted using an approved health and safety <br /> plan (Appendix IV) The proposed remedial action plan for the Lustre-Cal Nameplate site <br /> includes cleaning and rising all liquid from the concrete tank, disconnection of all piping <br /> related to the tank and removal or filling with inert material, excavation of hydrocarbon <br /> impacted soil immediately adjacent to the tank to a depth of approximately 20 feet and <br /> backfilling with clean sand or fill gravel, filling to the tank with clean sand, and placing an <br /> impermeable cap over the entre site <br /> Contaminated soil removed from the tank will be placed on 10 mil visqueen and covered <br /> This soil would be sampled and an appropriate on-sate remediation either through <br /> . aeration or bioremediation by landfarming would reduce contamination to non-hazardous <br /> levels The soil would then be utilized as landscaping or other on-site use Remediated <br /> soil would not leave the Lustre-Cal Nameplate site <br /> Regulatory involvement, in addition to the San Joaquin County Local Health Department, <br /> includes <br /> I <br /> • An aeration permit from the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution <br /> Control District <br /> • DTSC concurrence on aeration and soil disposal methods for the <br /> associated chlorinated hydrocarbon impacted soil <br /> Page 3 <br />
