SITE ASSESSAMT AND INITIAL ABATEMENT <br /> r OF �RYDROCARBOK CONTAMINATION <br /> 7-EL$M STORE, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> SEPTEMBER 5, 1986 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> I r <br /> This report p presents the results of Groundwater Technology, <br /> r+ Inc. 's Site Assessment and Initial Abatement of Hydrocarbon <br /> �+ Contamination at the 7-Eleven Store located at 9110 Thornton <br /> Road, Stockton, California. Groundwater Technology Inc. was <br /> Ey retained by the Southland Corporation to conduct an assessment i <br /> -., because a leak detection system and inventory records indicated a <br /> leak of gasoline t <br /> YPe hydrocarbons could be occurring at this <br /> site. The assessment investigation confirmed that an inadvertent <br /> loss of hydrocarbon <br /> product had occurred and an initial abatement <br /> program was established. <br /> r` <br /> led <br /> �i <br /> BAf'KGROUND <br /> ,A i <br /> A precision tank system test conducted on March 28, 1986 <br /> detected an unleaded system failure. The unlea6eH tank and <br /> distribution system was shut down April 2, 1986 when test results <br /> were received and reviewed. <br /> In mid-April 1986 Groundwater Technology Inc. was contracted <br /> by the Southland Corporation to investigate the extent of <br /> contamination resulting from the inadvertent leakage.
