Monitoring for vapors. All subsurface excavations will be
monitored for hydrocarbon vapors with an organic vapor analyzer
(OVA) or similar device to detect hydrocarbon vapors and identify
conditions that require respiratory equipment.
Respiratory. Respiratory protection will be available for all
on-site personnel during subsurface excavation activities. All
personnel will be trained in how and when to properly use the
equipment (OSHA guidelines CFR 29 1910. 134) . Respiratory
protection is not expected to be required during above grade
operations since the site assessment showed no organic vapors were
present there. Below grade work will be monitored, as stated
above, to determine if and when any respiratory protection is
required.
Clothing. Proper clothing will be required for all on-site
personnel to prevent transfer of oily material off-site. Proper
clothing includes appropriate gloves, boots, safety glasses, etc.
Coveralls will be worn while on-site and removed when off-site
(e.g. when at lunch) to prevent transfer of oil from the area.
EMERGENCIES; COMPLAINTS; CONCERNS
The purpose of this section is to list the responsible parties that
should be contacted in the event of an emergency at the site.
Chevron' s contacts should also be notified of any general problems
arising from our work (e.g. excessive noise, odors, unnecessary
disruption of traffic, etc. ) .
Agency Person to contact Telephone
Police Dispatcher 911
Fire Dispatcher 911
Ambulance Dispatcher 911
Hospital Tracy Community 209-835-1500
Memorial Hospital
Chevron:
Construction Period:
Field Construction
Representative (To be named) (Office)
(Home)
Construction Austin Wall (Office) (415) 842-8608
Coordinator (Home) (415) 830-9087
Operation Phase:
Contacts Doug Ely (415) 620-3171
Mark Hopkins (415) 620-2860
------------------------------------------------------------------
12
