wood.
ambient temperature ethylene glycol vapors through electrostatic
discharge is improbable; lightning protection (grounding rod) is not
required.
The tank was delivered new and fully assembled to the site in September
2011. The tank is estimated to have an approximate 10-15 year service
life. The tank manufacturer provided a 3-year warranty for this tank.
The tank is bounded by a compressor shed on the west and further
protected from vehicular traffic and physical damage by two concrete
block structures on its east side. See Attachment 1 Photolog.
Piping and ancillary equipment (pumps) 66265.192(k)(2)(C&D):
Piping Material of Construction: 3/4-inch rubber hose discharge line
and 3/4-inch similar suction line; exact hose specifications are unknown,
but the hosing is consistent with industry standards and shows no signs of
swelling or cracking.
Piping Diameter: 3/4-inch
Pump location(s): The pump is rigidly mounted on the wall just inside the
roll-up door. The discharge hose runs through the exterior wall, into and
through a compressor shed, and into the top of the adjacent tank.
Grommets protect the hosing as it passes through each structure. The
hosing is connected to metal pipe and a ball valve forming two right angle
turns before entering an aftermarket tank fitting. The suction hose also
runs through the exterior wall with enough length to hang a couple loops
on the exterior wall. The suction line has a fitting with a screen to filter
foreign objects prior to pumping. When needed, trays of waste antifreeze
are emptied into the tank using the electric pump and hose piping above.
Pump type(s)/capacities: A small Little Giant (Model 5UXN4) electric
impeller pump (115VAC, 60 Hz, 1.6A, 7 ft. of suction lift, 6 gpm) is used to
empty portable trays and fill the tank.
Material Storage 66265.192(k)(8):
Material and characteristics: The material is waste antifreeze from Truck
Division maintenance activities. It is classified as a hazardous waste due
to toxicity. The waste antifreeze is classified as a non-RCRA hazardous
waste, liquid (ethylene glycol solutions).
Specific Gravity: 1.1 to 1.4
Operating Capacity: 275-gallons
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. 275 Gal.
