KLEINFELDER
Based on the conclusions expressed above, the following recommendations were
detailed in Kleinfelder's report titled "Confirmation Sampling, Removal of Spent Lime
Ponds, Former Spreckels Sugar Plant No. 2...." dated September 26, 2000:
A) Kleinfelder recommends that no further excavation be done in an attempt to mitigate the spent
lime ponds.
B) Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to Mr. Ross Atkinson of the State
tof California Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for review and comment.
C) Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be courtesy copied to Mr. Ron Rowe of the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental Health Division.
On February 6, 2003 The RWQCB issued a "Notice of Revised Waste Discharge
Requirements for Former Spreckels Sugar Plant Lime Ponds, San Joaquin County
(Case No. 860)" that reduced the required groundwater monitoring frequency to semi-
annually and included a revised list of analytes. Kleinfelder has continued to conduct
the semi-annual groundwater monitoring at the site on behalf of AKF Development
Company. The following sections summarize the activities and results of the
groundwater monitoring activities conducted during the first semi-annual event of 2007.
t
' 20-3978-03.MN7/ST08R117 February 1,2008
0 2008 Kleinfelder Page 10 of 19
