File No. 20-3978-0 l.W21 KLEINFELDER
February 4, 1997
One soil samples from each boring location will be submitted for analysis. The samples will be
selected based upon field observations, qualitative field screening results, and the depth in the
boring. Each of the soil samples will be analyzed for Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons
(TPH ext.) as diesel and motor oil, pH and CAM 17 metals. It is anticipated that samples will be
analyzed on a normal laboratory turnaround schedule, which usually requires up to 10 working
days for receipt of analytical data.
Report Preparation
Upon completion of the soil sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results, a
report will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Lithologic logs and, if appropriate, interpreted geologic cross sections;
• Tabularized results of soil sample analysis with copies of certified analytical
laboratory results with chain-of-custody documentation;
• Conclusions and recommendations.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment.
SCHEDULE
Kleinfelder could initiate our field activities within 3 to 5 working days of receiving
authorization to proceed from PHS/EHD. Our report will be submitted for client review within
approximately 10 working days of receiving analytical results. Verbal results will be provided
upon our receipt of the analytical data. The estimated completion time for this scope of work is
approximately 4 to 6 weeks from PHS/EHD authorization to proceed.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
> Atherton Kirk Development will assist Kleinfelder in obtaining access to the site and
owner authorization for the proposed sampling.
> Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
soil borings and collect samples at the proposed locations.
