It is our <br /> understanding that Clayton Environmental Consultants, Inc. will be replacing <br /> Hydrotech Consultants, Inc. as consultants for future investigation and remediation <br /> at the Acme Galvanizing facility. This letter/application covers items discussed <br /> with you in a telephone conversation on May 31, 1989. <br /> Acme Galvanizing Co. is operating under direction of the state Department of <br /> Health Services (DHS). Ms. Lorna G. Kirby of DHS has been reviewing this <br /> investigation. An amended workplan prepared by Hydrotech Consultants, Inc., <br /> dated July 27, 1988 was approved by DHS in a letter dated August 10, 1988. This <br /> workplan has been filed with, and presumably approved by San Joaquin Local <br /> Health District. Work to be performed under this permit application is here <br /> considered part of the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study covered by that <br /> workplan and will be carried out under the supervision of DHS. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Work proposed to be carried out under this permit application has been required <br /> by DHS in their letter dated March 29, 1989 and is to include: <br /> 1. Resample all (3) of the monitoring wells to confirm the results of the <br /> groundwater analysis. Well casings will be purged and sampled with bladder <br /> pump and/or bailer. Purged water will be containerized in 55 gallon steel <br /> drums pending water sample analysis. <br /> 2. Analyze the 10 foot soil sample from Soil Boring No. B-4 and the 8 foot soil <br /> sample from Soil Boring No. B-11.
