ENVIRONMENTA�HEALTH <br /> 5 Mason <br /> Irvine, CA 92718 PERMITISERVICE <br /> Dear Mr. Saponara: <br /> ADDITIONAL ACME GALVANIZING REMEDIAL INVESTIGATION INFORMATION <br /> This letter is in response to the telephone conversation on <br /> Tuesday, March 14 , 1989 , and the meeting held on February 23 , <br /> 1989 . The additional information that the Department requires, <br /> at a minimum, for completion of the remedial investigation at <br /> the Acme-Stockton Galvanizing site includes the following: <br /> 1. Resample all of the monitoring wells to confirm the results <br /> of the groundwater analysis. <br /> 2 . Analyze the ten foot soil sample from Soil Boring No. B-4 <br /> and the eight foot soil sample from Soil Boring No. B-11. <br /> 3 . Drill three new borings to eight feet in depth on the west <br /> side of the building in the vacant land to determine the <br /> lateral extent of contamination. The first boring should <br /> be located approximately 15-20 feet north of Soil Boring <br /> No. B-15 in vertical- line with Monitoring Well No. 3 (MW-3) <br /> The second boring should be located equidistant between <br /> MW-3 and Soil Boring No. B-16. The third boring should be <br /> located approximately 15-20 feet south of Soil Boring Nc;. <br /> B-16 in vertical line with MW-3 . Soil samples should be <br /> taken at two-foot intervals starting at two (2) feet and <br /> analyzed as appropriate. <br /> The Department also requires that a •time schedule for completion <br /> of the Remedial Investigation Report and the combined Feasibility <br /> Study/Draft Remedial Action Plan be included with the finalized <br /> Community Relations Plan within ten working days from receipt of <br /> this letter. <br />
