L^J', .'.' 5 Mason Pcif;4jT ENTAL HEALTH Irvine, CA 92718 �SERVIr-X Dear Mr. Saponara: ADDITIONAL ACME GALVANIZING REMEDIAL INVESTIGATION INFORMATION This letter is in response to the telephone conversation on Tuesday, March 14 , 1989, and the meeting held on February 23 , 1989 - The additional information that the Department requires, at a minimum, for completion of the remedial investigation at the Acme-Stockton Galvanizing site includes the following: 1 . Resample all of the monitoring wells to confirm the results of the groundwater analysis . 2 • Analyze the ten foot soil sample from Soil Boring No. B-4 and the eight foot soil sample from Soil Boring No. B-11 . 3 . Drill three new borings to eight feet in depth on the west side of the building in the vacant land to determine the lateral extent of contamination. The first boring should be located approximately 15-20 feet north of Soil Boring No. B-15 in vertical- line with Monitoring Well No. 3 (MW-3 ) . The second boring should be located equidistant between MW-3 and Soil Boring No. B-16 . The third boring should be located approximately 15-20 feet south of Soil Boring NF:. B-16 in vertical line ,;ith MW-3 . Soil samples should `,e taken at two-foot intervals starting at two (2) feet and analyzed as appropriate. The Department also requires that a •time schedule for completion of the Remedial Investigation Report and the combined Feasibility Study/)rte Remedial Ac ' on Plan be included with the finalized Community Relations Plan within ten working days from receipt of t is letter.
