• <br /> MONITORING AND REPS TING PROGRAM -3- <br /> FOX VALLEY CORPORATION <br /> AND FOX RIVER PAPER COMPANY <br /> RIPON MILL <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT MONITORING <br /> Aeration Stabilization Basin No. 2 samples shall be collected downstream from the last connection <br /> through which waste can be admitted into the surface impoundment. Samples must be <br /> representative of the volume and nature of the discharge from Aeration Stabilization Basin No. 1. <br /> Grab samples shall be collected in a convenient location at least 200 feet from the influent structure <br /> of Aeration Stabilization Basin No. 2. Time of collection of a grab sample shall be recorded. <br /> If a discharge occurs in one of the four overflow ponds, then the time discharge began to the <br /> overflow pond(s) must be noted. <br /> The following shall constitute the surface impoundment monitoring program: <br /> Sample Type of Sampling <br /> Constituent Location Units Sample Frequency <br /> pH ASB No. 2 pH Units Grab Weekly <br /> Specific ASB No. 2 µmhos/cm Grab Weekly <br /> Conductivity <br /> Total Dissolved ASB No. 2 mg/1 Grab Weekly <br /> Solids <br /> Freeboard ASB No. 2 feet - - Monthly <br /> Standard Minerals ASB No. 2 mg/l Grab Annually <br /> The exposed portion of the surface impoundment shall be inspected monthly. Monthly inspection <br /> reports shall be submitted with quarterly monitoring reports and shall include a description of the <br /> condition of the waste water management facilities and any changes in appearance from the <br /> previous month. <br /> GROUND WATER MONITORING <br /> The water level in each monitoring well shall be measured quarterly. Data from water level <br /> measurements shall be used to construct ground water contour maps showing the direction of <br /> ground water flow in the aquifer beneath the Ripon Mill property. Ground water contour maps <br /> shall be submitted with the quarterly monitoring reports. Contour maps shall be constructed using <br /> feet above mean sea level. <br /> The ground water monitoring system will include the following monitoring and process wells: <br /> OB 1-25, TH 1-10, M7A, M7B, M 11 A, M 11 B, M 11 C, M 19C, M20C, M20D, PW-4, PW-5, <br /> PW-6, PW-7, and PW-8. <br /> The Discharger may propose, for approval, modifications in the monitoring system. Such <br /> modifications may include removal of monitoring wells from the system and replacement with <br /> existing wells or new wells. Monitoring wells proposed for permanent deletion from the system <br />
