Details of Process <br /> • Obtain proper containers for the waste <br /> • Label the containers with Hazardous Waste labels provided by Risk Management <br /> • Date the label when material is placed in the container/accumulation start date <br /> • On the label fill out the specific content of the material inside the container <br /> • Fill out the Physical state i.e., solid, liquid, or gas <br /> • Fill out the Hazardous properties on the label Corrosive,Ignitable,Reactive,Flammable, or Toxic <br /> • Always keep the container capped/closed except when adding more waste <br /> • Place the waste in the designated accumulation storage area within secondary containment <br /> When the container reaches capacity or 9 months of accumulation time, contact Risk Management for a <br /> pickup riskmana ement acific.edu <br /> 6. Training <br /> All personnel are required to complete all General Safety and Lab Safety training requirements and any additional <br /> training sessions specific to equipment and chemicals in the work area. PI's or Lab supervisors shall work with <br /> the EH&S and the Learning and Development Departments to ensure all necessary trainings are selected and <br /> completed by lab personnel. <br /> Additional Training Required: NA <br /> 7. Prior Approval Re uirements <br /> ❑ This task requires PI or Lab Supervisor approval prior to the start of this task, every time. <br /> ❑ This task is prohibited from being done when working alone in the lab. <br /> ❑x PI supervision is required until competency is achieved. <br /> ❑ This process and/or equipment is prohibited from being left unattended when in use. <br /> ❑ This task does not require PI or Lab Supervisor approval prior to the start of this task. <br /> 8.
