Figure 1 — Location Map illustrates the Site is located at
the intersection of Stewart and Cohen Roads approximately 1 mile northwest of the
Mossdale harbor, Lathrop, California.
Denali understands that a drilling permit and work plan is required to be filed with the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD). Denali will be using
EnProb Environmental Probing, a licensed C-57 driller, for subsurface sample
collection.
The River Islands development design includes excavation of the Site area. The
purpose of this limited soil investigation is to ascertain the presence of residual
pesticides and other chemicals of concern used during Site operations.
The general scope of the investigation is based on a Phase I Environmental Site
Assessment (Phase I ESA) prepared by Denali (2003). Site operations have included
pesticide storage, handling and mixing, equipment maintenance, equipment steam
clean and washout, and fueling operations.
The following scope of work describes the soil and groundwater sample collection
methodology. The sampling locations are shown on Figure 2 — Sample Location Map.
