Measurements:
Pump height - 45 inches
Tank heights - 52-40 inches
2- Inspecting Dropped-Off Vehicles
The inspection process consists of checking tire pressure, checking engine fluids,
re-filling air and fluids as needed, and checking lights and horn. A log slip is then
filled out on each truck. The truck is then driven to the c=ashing area and the keys
and log slip are turned in to the front desk.
Tire pressure is checked by stooping down to place a gauge on the valve of each
of the tires. if air is needed., a hose is taken from an air pump and placed on the tire
valve until appropriate pressure is reached for that tire.
On each truck, the hood is lifted to check nil, water, and other fluids. Most
vehicles require unlatching and lifting the hood from the front of the truck. On the
larger trucks, it requires unhooking a side latch, then reaching a front latch and
handle overhead and pulling the front of the hood backward and dawn. On the
largest cabs, the oil dipstick is located under the cab by the left front tire. Access to
the engine involves unlatching and lifting the entire cab up. Minimal overhead
pushing is involved since this mechanism is spring-loaded.
Oil is dispensed from a large drum which is pumped into a can via a rotary
pump. The can is used to pour the oil into the engine by unscrewing the cap and
reaching over the top of the engine. Water is filled by a hose into a hand-held can as
well.
The lights and horn are tested by depressing the horn and pulling the headlight
switch inside the cab.
Physical Requirements-
Standing- While checking fluids and lights.
Walking- Around trucks
Handling- lipsticks, pressure gauges, and light switches
Lifting- Oil and water cans
Squatting- To fill tire pressure
Reaching- To remove and reinsert dipsticks
Seeing- To check oil, water, and.. lights
Hearing- To check horn
Pushing. Overhead to raise hood
Pulling- Down. to lower hood
Measurements:
Hood heights - 47-60 inches
-food handles - 45-63 inches
Water can - 5-10 pounds
