Ms.Lydia Baker <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> #8 Violation: 403, CCR 66265.173 <br /> Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or <br /> removing hazardous waste. <br /> Observation: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were <br /> observed on-site: One black metal 55 gallon drum of used paper filters was <br /> observed under the filter crusher open and without a lid. <br /> Response: <br /> The black metal 55 gallons drum of used filters has been closed. A photo of the <br /> closed drum is included with this response. As preventive measure the site's <br /> personnel will be performing the weekly hazardous waste and hazardous materials <br /> inspection to identify any hazardous containers out of compliance and correct <br /> immediately. The results of the inspections are logged into the Ryder's internal <br /> form ES-47. Included in this response as attachment E is a photo of the drum and <br /> the ES-47 form. Safety Kleen's service work order will be provided upon receipt. <br /> #9 Violation: 406, CCR 66261.7 <br /> Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one <br /> year of being emptied. <br /> Observation: Ten metal 55 gallon empty drums that previously held motor oil and <br /> gear lubricant were observed in the hazardous waste storage area without the <br /> word 'empty'and the date emptied. Eight metal approximately 15 gallon empty <br /> containers that previously held grease were observed in the hazardous waste <br /> storage area without the word 'empty'and the date emptied. One black metal 55 <br /> gallon empty drum that previously held motor oil was observed in the empty <br /> container storage shed without the word 'empty'and a date emptied. One blue <br /> metal 55 gallon empty drum was observed in the empty container shed with an <br /> emptied date of 1112112018. One yellow metal 55 gallon empty drum was <br /> observed in the empty container shed with an emptied date of 912712018. One blue <br /> metal 55 gallon empty drum was observed in the empty container shed with an <br /> emptied date of <br /> 912112018. <br /> Response: <br /> All empty containers have been labeled with the date they were emptied. Included <br /> in this response are photos for the labeled empty containers. The empty containers <br /> have been picked up by Safe Kleen, the work service will be provided upon <br /> receipt. As preventive measure the site's personnel will be performing a weekly <br /> hazardous waste and hazardous materials inspection to identify any hazardous <br /> containers out of compliance and correct immediately. The results of the <br /> inspections are being logged in the Ryder's internal form ES-47. <br />
